Warm-Up 9.2:  

   Mr. Doyle makes kids sad every year when he tells them they can't write their career essay on joining the NBA, NFL, or becoming a rapper or pop star.  Doodle them a picture and write them 4-6 sentences to make them feel better.

Warm-Up 9.3:  

Draw a picture of yourself working your future career.  Include six different, labeled things on your drawing.  For example, if you will be a UPS man or woman, be sure to draw your boxes, special UPS shorts, Box Truck, etc.

  • Take notes on drafting

  • Begin drafting career essay

Lesson 9.4 (10/09/15)

 

Warm-Up 9.4:

In college, you will pay thousands of dollars to write papers and take tests.  If you're lucky, you'll get scholarships from the school, if you make them look good, and they want you as one of their students.  In exchange, for all this work and money, you receive a document telling you you're better than anyone that doesn't have one.  Do you agree with this paragraph?  Write 4 - 6 sentences.
